Nachdem die Nevercrew gerade für eine Woche in Kanada zu Gast war, wo sie für das Vancouver Mural Festival ein Wandgemälde gemalt haben, haben die beiden Schweizer die letzten Tage im dänischen Aalborg verbracht. Dort haben sie im Rahmen des WeAart Festivals ein weiteres Mural als Fortsetzung der Exhausting Machine Serie an die Wand gebracht.
Das Wandbild von Christian Rebecchi und Pablo Togni, welches sich über die Gebäudefassade eines Hinterhofes erstreckt, zeigt eine große zerdrückte Plastikflasche, in deren Flaschenhals eine weitere Plastikflasche steckt. Damit nimmt das neueste Mural der Schweizer Bezug auf den ersten Teil der Exhausting Machine Mural Serie in Vancouver. Mit den beiden Arbeiten thematisiert die Nevercrew das Ungleichgewicht zwischen Natur und Mensch und den enormen Ressourcenverbrauch der Menschen zu Lasten der Natur und Umwelt.
Die Künstler schreiben über ihre Arbeit: „This work directly follows and continues the previous urban intervention realized in Vancouver (Canada) and it is part of a series about the delicate balance in the relationship between mankind and nature, with a focus on the direct responsibility in the managing of this balance and the awareness about it.
The giant plastic bottle accumulates and it’s consumed. An alerting hourglass that highlight the time passing as and with water, the idea of a wider system of which everyone is part and who everyone can affect. A look at the opposites: where on a side there’s the attitude of privatization and exploitation of natural resources and on the other one a community that shares responsibilities, knowledge and conscience.“
