Millerntor Gallery goes Art Basel Miami – Day 6
Yesterday was the preview of
Art Basel Miami and of course, we are also here for the officially exhibited works. We went to the main site, the Convention Center, to have a look at the big galleries. I noticed a lot of illusive works and I must say I really love this style! My favorites were these two works from
Julio Le Parc and
Carlos Cruz-Diez.
Toilet paper seems to be interesting for the art world as well. The booth of
Fondation Beyeler was a mess, full of spaghetti and... toilet paper. By the way, more than 2 billion people don't have access to sanitation supply, another fact we want to change in the world (for example with our own
toilet paper). My conclusion: some nice works, some really boring stuff and a lot of high heels!

But our mission was another one: Artist
Sebastian Bieniek did a performance in the middle of the exhibition hall. He bought water and poured it over himself to show that some have too much and some too little water, and that this is something that has to be changed.
Watch the video of the performance here!
After Bieniek was led away by the Police, we waited for him for 2 hours in front of the building. More high heels to watch. And finally we were back with the crew. We put up our Rolling Gallery in Wynwood again and had some really nice talks about how art can be transformed into fresh water. Ramba Zamba posed in front of the Kuttique in their pink love suits and collected donations for
Viva con Agua from everyone who wanted to take a picture with them. (New social business case?) We were excited how people will react to the painting of Trump as a pig (since Florida voted for him!) and yes, it caused a stir. Most passersby thanked us to put it in a nutshell.
SUTOSUTO, an artist duo from Hamburg, know how to provoke and do this in a nice aesthetic style.

Other works that accompany Trump on this wall are from legendary
TASEK, the Tape Art collective
KLEBEBANDE, the Berlin-based duo
QUINTESSENZ,
Bobbie Serrano from Hamburg,
SADHUX from Nepal,
Fabian Wolf and
DUO-YFV-247. ...and all for fresh water! Thanks to all participating artists from all over the world who support our vision of WATER FOR ALL!

You are keen on insider information, right? Okay okay... to be honest: sometimes it rains even in Miami, at night we always kill our grocery provisions and in the morning the kitchen is a mess, a football hit the gallery wall, Sebastian Bieniek was very nervous before his performance, Ramba Zamba stole my lipstick and Bobbie and me finally found the free alcohol spot!

Today we will perform in front of
UNTITLED and at
JUXTAPOZ CLUBHOUSE, where our friends
LOW BROS are exhibiting as well.
