Ab dem 30. März 2012 ist der Künstler Vinz aus Valencia mit der Ausstellung “Usual Misdeeds” zu Gast in der Wiener INOPERAbLE Gallery. Wer gerade in Wien ist sollte es nicht verpassen.
We are happy to announce the first solo show of Vinz in Austria. The Valencian has seen a extreme burst in attention this past year with his work being covered on almost all of the blogs and receiving an extreme push from the popular website Wooster Collective. Vinz’s work was recently part of a group show currated by the founders of Wooster collective, and shown at Jonathan Levine Gallery in NY. Similar to the infamous Banksy, Vinz manages to combine humor and politically charged messages in his work, (make sure to read each title as the joke is sometimes hidden in the name). For Vinz, using nude male and female figures as a base, is a symbol of freedom, using imagery sometimes deemed inappropriate for the public. This taboo imagery causes even more issues when working in the streets where the public is forced to view them. Clearly Vinz is not a big fan of the police either, choosing to portray them as lizards or other reptiles.
We invite you to visit the opening on Friday the 30th for the premiere of his latest works. He will briefly be in Vienna and will also paint our rotating wall on Siebensterngasse and a wall for our project Shutterland. So stay tuned for pics of the show and his invasion of Vienna (a city renowned for nude imagery).
