Wir haben die NeverCrew aus der Schweiz, bestehend aus den beiden Künstlern Christian Rebecchi und Pablo Togni, nach Hamburg eingeladen, wo sie ein großes Hamburg gemalt. Das Wandbild mit dem Titel “Compelling Machine n°1” entstand im Rahmen des Muralprojekts City Canvas, als Teil de Reeprebahn Festivals, kuratiert von Urbanshit.
Die Künstler schreiben über ihr Bild: The inspiration for this painting, from which the machine takes form, is an idea of a system that force things in a decided position, without caring about the differences and the needs of each part. It’s about change and progress in a specific way that involves only a little part of the population, about persuasion and about all the possibilities that are discarded because described as impracticable. At the same time, the thought is also about a place and a community with a lot of energy and with a sense of rebelliousness. A power that can bring new solutions and that helps seeing the feasible where it’s usually hidden.
